I got a text from my daughter this morning: “Sunday morning wishlist: memory cards, fisheye lens, camera that can do low aperture, spare battery. Yours? :)”
this text made perfect sense to me since she is an aspiring photographer (and a very good one I might add).
My response to this text was: “tea and cupcakes with my daughter!”
she responded with a text to say…be serious, it must be something you want….Β and I wrote back to say I was!Β that is what I would want!! (and a campervan) and after a couple of smiley faces back and forth it suddenly struck me at how things change as you get older.
The things you want become more about time; time to spend with loved ones, time to share and time to do rather than have!
A very interesting post. I feel latley like i have too much stuff and I want to downsize and clear out the closets.
When I think about having a day off all I want to do is stay put and rest. lol…

hi Ivonne, lovely to hear from you! π I so agree. there is something to be said for just puuting the feet up and having some me time!
Aye, how things that seemed so simple long ago, now become important and the important things have become simple!
so true!!!
Yes – the ‘having things’ wish definitely fades with time. Like tastebuds, your appreciation of what is already there to be enjoyed matures and develops over time. (And conversely your patience to deal with trivia which once seemed soooooo important ebbs away)
hahaha! Kathy, you hit the nail on head…. thanks for dropping by π
Tea and cupcakes. It’s the simple things.
hi Jenny! π yeah…..tea and cupcakes anyday, especially when its with my daughter π thanks for dropping by
