Actually I think we should just stay in lockdown…the planet is getting a chance to recover.

I went for a brief walk today and created a collage of all the rainbows in the village

Hope

Millions of pink flamingos in Mumbai; According to the Bombay Natural History Society, there has been a 25 per cent increase in flamingo migration since last year…

Because the world has come to a standstill in many places and humans are staying inside, the environment is benefiting in different ways. One of the best examples is what recently took place in eastern India……

Article after article report of amazing recoveries in the natural world….even dolphins in the canals of Venice.

It’s an absolute shame, that once lockdown is lifted, the natural world will once again suffer for the greed and carelessness of humans.

I read an article posted by the Natural History Museum:

“Rampant deforestation, uncontrolled expansion of agriculture, intensive farming, mining and infrastructure development, as well as the exploitation of wild species have created a “perfect storm” for the spillover of diseases from wildlife to people.”

Unless we protect nature…hmmm

I sent my grandson a letter today, just a brief glimpse into a world of which he us blissfully unaware….a letter telling him a little of what is happening. What I wonder will this world look like in 20 years time? What kind of world is he going to grow up in? Certainly it will be vastly different to the world he was born into. I’m hoping a lot of good will come out of this pandemic and that humans will stop abusing animals, and trotting out the same old shit….”if God didn’t want us to eat animals….” it’s a pathetic excuse to turn a blind eye and look the other way ‘I did not see, therefore it does not exist’ – well shame on us….I think we’ve kinda fucked up the ‘guardians of the earth part ‘.

Its been a weird kinda day….neither here nor there. The statistics though are terrifying. Oh and Bozo had a baby

So yeah…..

5 weeks!!! 5 weeks of lockdown. Who the hell would’ve guessed on 01.01.2020 that this insane situation would exist. It’s all my fault actually…its my normal policy to NOT work over New Year, my firm belief being that whatever you’re doing on New Year’s night is what you’re going to be doing for the rest of the year…..so since my normal job entails working for 22 hours out of 24 (a type of lockdown) for anything from2 weeks to 6….see…I was working, and now I, along with millions of others are in proper lockdown…for 5 weeks so far. I have 2 to go, so lets hope that by then it’ll have been eased somewhat. I am soooo looking forward to having my time to myself again…albeit only for a week 🤪🤪🤪🤪

Had a wonderful conversation with my daughter this morning and of course I got to see my delightful grandson. He is such a joy. I felt really sad that I’m not on my way back, but still here for another fortnight….sigh. I do miss them all so much.

I had a wonderful walk again today, still sticking within the government guidelines, but not as long as yesterday….instead of walking around the mound 3 times, I only walked around twice 🤪🤪

Going up

Day 2 of the Hadrian’s Wall challenge and I completed 3.7kms

I watched the BBC Panorama programme tonight and all I can say is that I’m totally totally disgusted with how the Tory government has manipulated the statistics and information to suit their narrative. They’re a disgrace.

As for another disgrace…saw this article in the paper this morning

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

This pernicious nation is the virus

And on that note I shall bid you goodnight….stay safe and please please don’t be travelling around the country unless its for work or an emergency. Visiting places across country for exercise is unacceptable.

Gosh, could it really be 2 years ago already!! My beloved daughter gifted me a flight in a Spitfire for my birthday 2 years ago…I’m a bit of a Spitfire fan 😊😊 It was truly a most extraordinary gift and experience ever.

A most extraordinary experience

My excitement levels on the day were through the roof….besides the very amazing experience, what is most memorable, is that on the day, while we were watching the other people having their flights I patted her on the belly and said “the only thing that could top this is a grandchild “….little did any of us know that she was already 2 weeks pregnant 😊😊😊😊 We waited a very long time for this baby, a boy, and he has been the gift that keeps on giving.

The gift that keeps on giving 💙👶🏻

Interesting comment made by Brian Cox on the Andrew Marr show this morning…they were discussing online science lessons for 10-11 year olds that he, Brian, was creating, and the challenges that entailed. In response to a question from Andrew Marr he said…..

“Following the science” really means we don’t know enough yet, or don’t really understand. Quoted by Brian Cox on the Andrew Marr Show. Yet our government continues to say “we’re following the science” – 😂😂😂😂🤨🤨🤨

My client and I were just reminiscing about ‘the old days’ and I was telling her how my mother used to send my sisters and I to the public swimming pool….a good 20/30 minute walk from home, and how we’d spend hours there on our own…me about 14, my sister 11 and the youngest 4 years old.  Perfectly safe, and most kids did the same. I was also telling her about the African ‘mielie man’ who cycled about the neighbourhood on Friday evenings with two great big hessian sacks hanging off the back of the bike filled to overflowing with fresh mielies ‘corn on the cob’, still wrapped in their leaves with the brown hairy tufts, shouting “mielies, mielies” and my mother would give us money to go buy a bunch for supper. We’d eat them piping hot, smothered with salt and proper butter that melted and ran down our chins…so hot we would burn our fingers and lips…but we would fight over who was going to get the last one 😂😂😂 and then I reminded her about the ‘rag and bone’ man, or the haberdashery carts that had every single item needed for sewing or knitting or hair accessories that you could ever wish for….such a shame we’ve lost all that.

I saw this on Facebook today 🤪🤪👏👏👏

First, we hear alcohol may prevent the virus… now research suggests the opposite. Then we’re told heat and humidity has no effect, but wait… direct sunlight might quickly kill the virus….. So, if you come across a 65 year old woman, standing in the front yard, intoxicated and naked, leave me alone… I’m conducting important medical research.🙅‍♀️🤷‍♀️🙎‍♀️🙆‍♀️🤦‍♀️

(Yes, I stole this post. Yes. You can steal it, too 😁) Change the age! 😂😂

Day 1 of my Hadrian’s Wall Challenge done and dusted….I completed 4.28 kms-140.52 kms to go. The Hadrian’s Wall walk; 90 miles of Roman defence structure between England and Scotland, stretches across the country from Wallsend on the east coast and finishes at Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast. I’ve reached Newcastle on Tyne so far…I’ll have to get a move on if I plan to finish in 6 weeks 🙄🙄🙄

Newcastle Upon Tyne

If you want to join in the fun and walk Hadrian’s Wall…virtually of course 😂😂 this is my referral link

The only cost involved is for the purchase of the Badge, proceeds of which do not go to me. There’s an app that needs to be downloaded and you have to register an account/profile. I’ve found the app a little on the wieldy side, but I’m managing to navigate it with s bit if back and forth…its not 100% user-friendly but I’m figuring it out as I go.

Hadrian’s Wall, also called the Roman Wall, Picts’ Wall, or Vallum Hadriani in Latin, is a former defensive fortification of the Roman province of Britannia, begun in AD 122 in the reign of the emperor Hadrian. Opened: 128 AD

It was a lovely day for a walk albeit quite hot. I stopped at contemplation corner to contemplate life for a brief moment or two, then followed my usual route past the farms, through the fields, round the mound from base to summit in ever decreasing circles, and then back down again.

The views from the top are stunning

Another quiet day, although I have noticed more and more vehicles driving by, as well as which I can hear more traffic on the nearby dual carriageway. What a shame. I know life has to go on, but sad to know that soon we humans will be back to polluting the planet.

I’ve started a handwritten diary as well as the online daily Lockdown blogging, and I compiled a list of words that for me have so far defined 2020

Lockdown, Covid-19, coronavirus, disinfectant, hoarding, supplies, social distancing, rainbows, clap for carers, NHS, China 🤬🤬, pangolins, wet markets, pandemic, PPE, hand washing, quarantine, self-isolate, testing, masks, unprecedented, Zoom, facetime, deaths.

It’s possible there may be more, because God knows, we have no idea what is waiting for us in the future…just look how 2020 has played out so far. 😥😥

I signed another petition today demanding that the government refrain from bailing Richard Branson’s Virgin Airlines out using tax payers money….seriously. Hasn’t he heard of banks? They do loans, but of course he’d have to pay interest and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want to do that. If this poxy Tory bunch bail him out it will be a travesty, and then fuck it, I won’t pay any more tax because I am damned if I’m working an extra 3 weeks every year to bail his billionaire ass out. If he can’t run his business in profit, then he shouldn’t be in business. And if he gets bailed out, then so should every damn business. I used to have a modicum of respect for him, but when a billionaire who has a feking island to live on puts his hand out for my hard-earned taxes, is when I say……I’ll leave that to your imagination. Suffice to say, I’m disgusted. 😡😡

Oh hey, I joined an online virtual challenge to walk Hadrian’s Wall over the next 6 weeks. I really just wanted the badge 😁😁 Of course I’d much rather walk it for real, but that will have to wait. Meanwhile this challenge will get my lazy ass out the house and walking instead of sleeping during my break 😂😂😂 If I am to do the Camino next year with my sister, I really need to start training again. 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♀️

I do miss my walking poles though…talking of which, you’ll never believe where they pitched up….at my daughter’s address!! Thank goodness I asked the lady who posted them to me to put the return address as my daughter’s address. So they didn’t get to me in Somerset after all. Oh well, 2 weeks to go.

Hello Gemini!! Wish you were here 🤔🤔

Well that’s it for today…hope you’re all well and keeping safe

EARTH DAY 20-26 April

Okay so this is a few days late and its already half way through, but this process can be applied to every week of the year going forward if people really mean that they want to change..

I’ve attached the guidebook link for your convenience. http://www.beforeitstoolate.earth/7-day-guidebook.html#

IMAGINE! if we all applied this process to our week, every week!! What a difference we would see…

There’s lots of chatter on social media about NOT going BACK to what was our normal pre-Covid19. This is a simple way to make the changes we must/should/could/have to make in order to avoid the consequences of a continuation of our previous destructive lifestyles. Of course there are millions of people already making massive changes and have done so for years, but we have an opportunity now to really step up for the sake of future generations.

Earth Week

Some good has come of our sudden change in behaviour during 2020, but largely the environmental problems we’re facing globally do still exist. The world’s reaction to this health threat has proven that we are capable of adapting our behaviour in a way that benefits the planet, but the real test will be what happens when this crisis is over”. See the Facebook link for more information.

I heard a snippet on the One Show last night about the SpaceX satellites that were being launched by Elon Musk, so I did some research and found that we’d be able to see them between 2am and 5am this morning…so at 3.35 I slipped quietly out the house, walked up the hill to the Mound and found a decent spot. My efforts were rewarded and I saw 23 satellites go by….boom boom boom…so fast and evenly spaced..amazing. I also saw 4 shooting stars 🌠🌠🌠🌠from the Lyrid meteor overhead till the 26th ☄☄☄☄ and besides the hundreds of stars 🌌 I could see the big dipper 😃😃👏👏👏

Look up to the heavens tonight…In an additional treat for skygazers, a SpaceX rocket launch from Cape Canaveral in Florida will be visible over the UK. Around 15 to 20 minutes after its scheduled 2030 BST takeoff, the rocket and its payload of 60 Starlink satellites should be “quite visible”, according to MeteorWatch. Well, at 8.15, once again traipsing up the hill, I climbed right to the top of the Mound and waited…..to no avail 😥😥😥 nothing and nada….no 🚀 to be seen. But!!!! I had phoned my daughter to tell her about it and hoorah, they saw it

Soooo tiny, and apparently sooo fast!!

How thrilling is that!! Apparently he’s sending the satellites up in batches of 60 and there’s going to be 12,000 in all for now with an eventual total of 42,000!!! 😱😱😱 can you imagine 42,000🛰🛰🛰s in the sky. Seems insane and apparently its causing quite an upset in the astro community. I’m pretty certain he’s not bovvvered 🤪🤪🤪 The aim is to provide cheap Wifi for everyone in the world.

Other than that its been a quiet day, I went for a lovely walk this afternoon..the weather had been so amazing but I did see a dark haze on the horizon, so I suspect that we may see some grey skies soon.

A quiet nook

We had a grandparents facetime with the boo again today….he is so cute and just carries on with his day, popping over every now and then to look with bemusement at all the faces 🤪🤪 It was nice coz they all sang happy birthday to me ☺️☺️ which was quite unexpected…

So even though I didn’t see the spaceship, I did see a fabulous sunset

Btw did you notice what I didn’t do in my post last night or tonight for that matter??? I didn’t bitch about the inept, useless, incompetent, dishonest government 🤪🤪🤪

Night folks, stay safe…keep social distancing and washing your hands…don’t let Covid-19 catch you out.

Ohhh k just heard the 11pm chimes on the clock tower….time to 😴😴😴😴

Just another day in paradise….

Whatever you do….don’t forget the meteor shower over the UK this next week https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/18382169.lyrid-meteor-shower-visible-uk-tonight—see/?ref=fbshr

“It is the oldest known meteor shower still active and was first observed in 687 BCE. As they come through the atmosphere, the meteors reach speeds of 50kms a second, but most will burn up before reaching the surface of Earth.” Thankfully the weather has improved and we have clear skies so I’m hoping I get to see this!!!

Actually it was a lush day after all despite a grey start. So much do that I went out for a walk and managed a decent 3.56kms.

Lush all round

My daughter phoned just as I got to the mound and it was amazing to chat to them again 🥰🥰🥰 and so thrilled to hear my grandson say “Granny!!” properly this time 👏👏👏💙👶🏻 He is such a little charm. Cannot wait to see him again.

My little boo 💙👶🏻🥰

On my way back to the house I spotted some more free books, so added a few to the collection 😉🤣🤣

I read so many interesting articles today that my head is swimming. Not least of which was about China. Seriously if the West doesn’t wake up soon, the Chinese government is going to own the world. https://news.yahoo.com/coronavirus-ends-chinas-honeymoon-africa-205217380.html?soc_src=community&soc_trk=fb

I’m thrilled to note that the chap, Chris, who is walking the coastline of the UK to raise funds for SSAFA has smashed his target of £100k 👏👏👏👏

https://www.facebook.com/chriswalksuk/videos/655847218318343/

Absolutely brilliant. I’ve been following his story for some months now and he is so inspiring with his determination and goodwill. Magic.

Other than that, nothing much else happened really. Covid-19 is wreaking havoc and the debates etc etc etc rage on. The orange swamp thing in the WH is completely off the rails in the US, while in the UK Bojo is still in hiding while different ministers are being wheeled out of the cupboard, dusted off and trotted out to stand in front of the camera and say whatever it is that they say….none of it means anything anymore and most certainly, any trust that may have existed is gone. The results of their actions are becoming increasingly obvious and it’s an ongoing farce. Promises are broken quicker than they are made. Urgh.

Anyway, it will play out the way its going to play out…..life will never be the same again….

Oh wait….I found my favourite sweet at the shop today 👏👏👏👏👏

Bonus!!!

All the best folks stay safe

Okay so after deciding to not continue keeping a ‘diary’ of this weird, surreal situation we’re living in, called ‘Lockdown,’ I changed my mind…these are strange times and after thinking about it, I just felt like I needed to record my thoughts and feelings and links of interest…one day my grandson might be interested to read them and get a very tiny glimpse of this weird weird time.

My client keeps saying ‘we’ve never lived through anything like this before ‘ and of course she’s right…we haven’t. Other countries have dealt with similar issues like the Ebola virus that is still causing death in the Congo, or the HIV virus that has caused so much death worldwide, and we’ve had other flu virus epidemics but this, this is different….no other crisis has caused a worldwide lockdown with 90% of businesses shut down. Although the word is/has been overused, it is unprecedented….

There are so many tragic tragic stories, heartbreaking stories that flatten you with sadness for the people living and dying in those stories….

Then we have the heartwarming stories like the now world-famous 99 year old Capt Tom. I mean what a perfect name for someone who will go down in history….

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-52290976

What started out as a generous idea to raise £1000 for the NHS, has turned into a worldwide phenomenon with thousands now calling for him to be on the Queen’s Honours list….for a Knighthood. 👏👏👏👏🎖🎖

As I write the amount donated has gone over the £10million threshold. Wowwww. Extraordinary doesn’t even begin to describe it. Beyond incredible. Bless his socks!!!

Amongst all the chaos of Covid-19 we keep hearing about inspiring stories, see people doing fantastic things and learning more about how in times of crisis, so many people step up and be amazing. And there are so many!!! I simply love that the rainbow has become a symbol of the times…🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

On the home front, I ventured out of doors during my break today for the first time since last week and covered a decent 2.54kms and got back to the house in my designated hour. The weather is absolutely fabulous and I’m convinced Mother Nature is teasing us…..I don’t recall seeing so many blue sky days in a row in all the years I’ve lived in the UK.

Enroute I noticed this crowd not practicing social distancing….clearly they didn’t get the memo 🙄🙄🙄

2 metres chaps!!

Along the way my daughter phoned and I got to spend some virtual time chatting to her and my grandson and a brief hello to son-in-law 🥰🥰🥰 I miss them so much. He was reading a book and my daughter let me watch how good he is at turning the pages…for a 15 month old he’s very impressive. Most toddlers his age tend to rip books apart, but he’s ever so careful with his books.

On my way back to the house I passed the shelter next to the clock tower and found a lot of free stuff, so carefully selected a few books and a toy to take home for him

Books and more books 😍😍

I doubt many children have as many books as this boy.

I stopped off at the castle mound and climbed to the top where I noticed this beautiful installation

Easter Cross
❤❤❤

Its really weird to realise that I’ve been here now for just over 3 weeks and we’ve settled in really well together. Sadly it also means that my time here is rapidly nearing the end. Despite the really awful start, I’ve been quite happy here and although I do get bored, I am quite content. Not something I experience very often. Unfortunately the day draws near to when I have to venture out into the wide world again and I can honestly say that I am afraid.

I’ve done everything in my power to keep myself and my client safe from the virus; being absolutely vigilant about washing anything that may have come into contact with the virus and baking the newspaper and magazines etc on the Rayburn. But once I start travelling it’s all out of my hands and I’m not embarrassed to say I’m afraid.

Afraid some idiot may think they’re above all this and travel despite having symptoms. I’m afraid some moron will think its clever to spit at me or anyone else like they’ve done to others. Krist, what kind of twisted mind would do that??? Afraid I might accidentally come into contact with the virus…despite my precautions.

I’m dreading the long journey on 2 trains and the tube…its going to take bloody hours from here to there and that’s assuming there are no cancellations. And all the time I’ll be exposed. Urgh.

And then when I do get back I won’t even have the joy of spending time with my family….I’ll possibly be exposed to the virus at some point of my journey and I’ll have no way of knowing. So to keep them safe I’ve decided to keep my distance. I can only hope that by the time my next assignment ends in mid-May that the worst of this thing is over.

Meanwhile we got news today that my beloved brother-in-law had a minor (thankfully) heart-attack last night and is now in hospital 😥😥😥 I feel absolutely distressed for my sister as she and her hubby are joined at the hip. And he’s not yet even 50. Its insane. But he’s in hospital and the procedure they’ll perform is simple and hopefully he’ll be home soon.

Worrying times and we’re all so far away.

Anyhow, that’s me for today. I finished my 7th book yesterday 😂😂😂 and have just started the 8th….this has been a real treat for me as I don’t often get time to read as much. Oh and I’m working my way through a few polygons…a bit like scrabble but with only one word. My daughter maintains I’m some kind of weird word person 😁😁😁

So there we are, or is that here we are 😏😏😏 in the 4th week of lockdown….who knew at 00:01 on 1st January 2020 as we celebrated the arrival of the new year what a bastard of a year it was going to be…

Keep safe folks, maintain social distancing, wash your hands and please don’t take chances…stay home.

As we enter the 2nd week of lockdown it seems that finally the message is getting through to the last of the laggards. People are staying home 👏👏👏👏👏

Thankfully I love reading and although I was only expecting to be here for 2 weeks, I brought 3 new books with me. I can’t tell you how often in the past I’ve worked in homes bereft of books!! How do people not have books to read??

As it turns out, I’m going to be here for 5 weeks!!! And bonus…unusually for me there are hundreds of books in this house, and most are by authors that I enjoy…so I have a huge selection and choice to keep me going.

I finished the 1st book a couple of days ago and started reading another of my favourite authors…Lee Child. The Midnight Line features Jack Reacher and as with others in the series it doesn’t disappoint. I read until 11.30pm last night and until I couldn’t see anymore 🤪🤪🤪 it’s a page turner.

I had the joy of a facetime call with my grandson this morning 💙👶🏻💙 He’s ever so cute and developing so quickly. Apparently he’s started calling me nan nan 🥰🥰…still finding it difficult to say Granny 👵🏻 Its an absolute joy to watch his development and I’m in awe of how much he has grown and changed in the last 14.5 months. From a tiny, helpless baby dependent on us for his every need, to an adorable toddler with a very determined mind of his own….and if he’s deterred…he has a bit of a meltdown…a real drama llama 😂😂😂😍 It’s so cute.

I had a fabulous walk today. I retraced my steps from yesterday and went a wee bit further. The weather was perfect for walking. What a beautiful area of the country….although my time is limited, the Quantocks are right on my doorstep and I am so lucky. I only passed about 8 people today, we all waved, said hello and asked if we’re doing good…all in very good spirits. The path I followed runs right next to a bubbling stream and at one stage I was inspected by a very energetic little dog who had no clue about social distancing 😂😂😂

Countrywide the news is not good. This horrible thing is spreading so fast now and as fast as its spreading so our government is lagging behind. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time. If nothing else, being in lockdown gives us a better chance to scrutinise what our government is doing and they’re not doing too fantastically. The medical profession are begging for PPE and other supplies, and the current spokesman stands there and talks 🐂💩. The current crisis is fully in their hands.

So here we are, at the end of another day and I am thinking more about how much I have to be grateful for….others feel the same way too

Take care folks, stay safe

Okay so today has been both bad and good. My client has been in a bloody strop the whole day and made life absolutely miserable. Urgh. 🙄🙄🙄

But it was a beautiful day so I went out for my daily shop and topped up a few items. Saw a few people about – we all observed social distancing but managed to have a brief chat anyway.
As usual I listened to the news, but it’s all so depressing and repetitive that eventually I switched the TV off and spent some time between duties to cut snippets of interest out the newspapers.
I’ve started a time capsule for my grandson; a record of interesting things: big and small that is happening around the world. I plan do do a capsule for each year of his life till he’s 10 years old…or more. Then one day I’ll give him the box/boxes and he can amuse himself looking back at history that happened during his life.

Jamie’s time capsule

My break couldn’t come soon enough today and at exactly 2pm I stepped out the door and into the sunshine. A few people strolled by and again we were all very British and very correct about keeping our distance. It is rather nice actually, people behave differently during a crisis and whereas they might normally not give you the time of day, now we all say hello, comment on the weather (wouldn’t be in Britain if we didn’t) and wish each other a lovely day and stay safe. It’s all rather cosy tinged with a dose of fear.
I walked to the top of the hill and onto the castle where I saw that the baaaaabarians had breached the castle walls…

Baaaabarians have breached the castle walls
Baaaaabarians everywhere

My plan was to settle into the nook I’d seen a couple of days ago and just soak up the sun, the peace and the birdsong…
Which I duly did. Not a soul bothered me.

My view

My daughter called and we facetimed via WhatsApp ….it was lovely to hear her voice and see her face and my grandson is just adorable. So cute and so funny.
He races back and forth, grins at me and then dashes off again. What an absolute joy that child is.

The Blur in action 🥰🥰🥰👶🏻💙

After our call I lay in the sun looked at the sky and watched the clouds go by and snoozed till it was time to get back to work.

Watching clouds and contemplating life

On the way down I stopped to collect tufts of wool scattered around and leaning down to pick up one such tuft I very sensibly put my hand right on top of some stinging nettles. That was 6 hours ago and its still stinging. Fortunately I had a tube of aloe vera in my pocket so rubbed some onto the area. It would have been much worse if I hadn’t. The reason I collected the wool is so that my grandson can use real wool to make a craft sheep….if he ever has to make one…

Tufts of wool

Back at the house, time dragged till dinner time and of course I watched the chancellor’s speech. Krist, hasn’t he learned how to be a politician pretty damn quick!!! Incredible. He’s slotted into the role as if he’d been doing this for years. Do they have a course we don’t know about? ‘How to be slick in 10 easy steps ‘.
Mind you has he ever been dumped in the deep end….I wonder what Sadiq Khan thinks of this…lucky escape or lost opportunity to be a hero??
To be honest, I know this is a terrible time and I worry about my family, but truthfully, I’m exhausted with hearing about this damn virus. The news is like Brexit on steroids.

My stress levels increased exponentially at about 6.30pm when I lost network. I couldn’t send or receive messages and I nearly lost it. My phone is my lifeline when I’m working and I cannot bear to be without reception. Especially at a time like this. It righted itself about an hour later, but my life expectancy has shortened.🤪🤪🤪🤪👵🏻

The 2nd bright spot of the day came at 8pm…ohhh my gosh. Thats one thing I love so much about this country…when it really counts, people come together.
I stepped out the door into the street half expecting to be standing on my own clapping for the NHS and our wonderful NHS staff, but no….the street was lined with residents and we clapped and cheered loud and strong for our carers. As soon as the clapping started I started crying and couldn’t stop for well over an hour. So amazing to see people out and participating.
And now the day is drawing to a close, I’m in bed and just about to put the light out.

I only managed a collective 1mile today but for sure climbing that hill to the castle must be equal to at least another 2 miles….its that steep; a good cardiovascular workout 😉 my excuse anyway.
3 days done 18 to go. Let’s hope this initiative works and we see a drop in new cases.
Goodnight all. Stay safe and wish you all well.

High enough!! 💓💓💓❤

Typical innit

At a time when we could all be out and about enjoying the glorious weather, we’re on lockdown 🤪🤪🤪❌🚶🏻‍♀️

I can hear the birds 😃🕊🕊🐦

For me, in my job, its business as usual. This is my life…confined to the house for 22 hours a day, 2-4 weeks at a time, with a few outing exceptions like hospital visits or the doctor or a bit of shopping. I don’t mind so much in winter when its cold and rainy, but it’s a mental (and emotional) challenge in spring, summer and autumn. 🌸🌼🍁

But, I am making the most of my break and getting out while the going is good and making the most of my allowable time off and out ….adhering to work and government guidelines. Thankfully this position is not like many others I’ve had in the past where I’m not allowed to leave the house at all for 2 weeks at a time due to the nature of the client’s condition and requirements.

Make the most of your time out allowance and enjoy the fabulous weather….the air is clearer, I can hear the birds, there’s less pollution, I can see the stars at night, and nature is drawing breath….

Clear skies 🌝🌝
