My client has a lady by the name of ‘Alexa’ living in her house πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Although I don’t entirely trust the girl, and I’m sure she listens in on our conversations, I’ve been asking her to play some of my favourite tunes; listened to Mozart while preparing supper last night. 🎼🎼🎼

I’ve also asked her to play some of my Mother’s favourite pieces of music/songs; Moon River, Talk to the Trees, What a Wonderful World, and of course the Elizabethan Serenade which apparently was so named in honour of the new Queen; Elizabeth II. I absolutely adore the paintings that accompany this version, the original

I was just moving about the house this morning, minding my own business, at the assignment where I’m currently working, when suddenly I heard the cleaner singing a tune I hadn’t heard for years!! One of my absolute favourite songs and immediately the hairs stood up along my arms and I got goosebumps all over my body. I absolutely LOVE this song and it brought back a whole host of memories…. πŸ™‚

It is the evening of the day,
I sit and watch the children play.
Smiling faces I can see
But not for me,
I sit and watch as tears go by.

My riches can’t buy everything,
I want to hear the children sing.
All I hear is the sound
Of rain falling on the ground,
I sit and watch as tears go by.

It is the evening of the day,
I sit and watch the children play.
Doing things I used to do
They think are new,
I sit and watch as tears go by.

Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm
Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm
Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm …

Here is the Marianne Faithfull version

Just about some of the most beautiful words and particularly poignant considering my job….I work with people who are in the evening of their days….as they sit and watch the years go by.

I shall have to add this to my funeral/wake playlist!!!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

I hope that you find something of interest to you and that you enjoy my posts.

As I head off ‘Over The Hill’, I find that I am in fact enjoying the view, and am having way more fun now than I did 40 years ago (ok so that ages me a bit πŸ™‚ )

You are cordially invited to join me on my journey as I explore the realms of the older and (hopefully) wiser generation.

My posts will be of no particular genre, merely a reflection of things I enjoy and do and I invite you to comment on those posts or request anything you would like to read about.

I am Mother to a wonderful daughter, not yet a granny! and I am passionate about travelling, saving our Planet, saving wild animals before they become extinct.Β  I love, cycling, photography, reading, Personal Development, writing (hence the blog), all sorts of music, dancing, a starlit night, sunsets and sunrises, the sea, the mountains……in fact I love just about everything.

Thanks for joining me, I hope we can have some fun times together.

Have a great day! πŸ™‚
